Tear Troughs

Tear trough rejuvenation is a non-surgical aesthetic procedure for patients with the appearance of under-eye shadows, hollows, dark circles and eye bags.

Tear trough rejuvenation is a non-surgical aesthetic procedure for patients looking to alleviate problems with the appearance of their eyes such as under-eye shadows, hollows, dark circles and eye bags.

There are many reasons why the tear trough underneath the eyes can begin to look tired, including genetics, lack of sleep, lifestyle and aging. The knock-on effect can be disruption to the patient’s appearance, and a consequent effect on the person’s confidence. Tear trough treatment can restore the appearance of the eyes, giving them a more youthful look.

How does tear trough treatment work?

Here at SF Aesthetics we use a dermal filler to enact the rejuvenation of the tear trough, injecting the filler into the trough in order to restore its volume. This treatment benefits from being non-permanent, reversible and from offering a quick recovery time, with most patients recovering fully within a week.
The dermal filler we use for tear trough injections is Redensity 2, the first gel specifically designed to tackle under-eye circles. This gel filler comes with 14 essential nutrients which continue to improve the quality of the tear trough after injection.

Am I suitable for tear trough injection?

Sadly, not all patients who complain of tear troughs are suitable for tear trough rejuvenation. Some patients may benefit more from mid-face rejuvenation, a form of treatment which restores a youthful look to the face by lifting the upper cheeks and softening the tear trough area. If you are worried that tear trough injections may not be suitable for you, we would be happy to discuss this with you during the consultation.

It is our aim to have you leaving your tear trough treatment looking totally refreshed and revitalised. If you would like to book this treatment, please get in touch with us via our contact page.

Popular Questions

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • What are the side-effects ?

The most common side-effects of tear trough fillers are, tenderness, redness, swelling and bruising - these are only temporary and should settle 24-48 hours after treatment.

More serious issues include infections, skin nodules, cycts and a vascular occlusion. I recommend patients keep their skin clean for the rest of the day following treatments - no make-up, moisturisers etc. I also use the safest techniques available to prevent such problems as a vascular occlusion (where filler is injected into the vessel)

  • Will I require any aftercare?

I recommend the following to all of my patients:

Drink plenty fluids after any injectable treatments

Do not touch the treated area for 8 hours

    No make-up for 8 hours

    Avoid sunbeds/saunas/steamrooms for 2 weeks

  • Do you offer an initial consultation?

Of course, simply use the contact form at the foot of this page and we I will be back in touch to answer all your questions
